Join the B4B+ Club to become part of a network of committed actors, access best practices in biodiversity footprint measurement, and strengthen your sustainability strategy.

Description

The B4B+ Club, launched in 2018, is an international network of more than 45 companies, financial institutions, and consulting firms, brought together around the topic of biodiversity footprinting.

Membership benefits of the B4B+ Club:

  • Plenary Session: A plenary meeting is organised each year at the initiative of the Club's General Secretariat. This meeting brings together all Members of the Club and complements the operational working groups with a more strategic session, specifically designed for the management teams of Member organisations.

  • Working Groups: Club members meet regularly throughout the year as part of working groups, to be chosen at the time of membership. The working groups (WGs) are presented below.

  • Newsletters: Each Member receives a regular newsletter highlighting key developments in footprint measurement (ongoing consultations, regulatory changes, new reporting frameworks, key findings from scientific publications, etc.) as well as upcoming Club events.

  • Priority access to training courses: Each Member benefits from priority access to footprint measurement training sessions organised by CDC Biodiversité and is entitled to a 20% discount on training fees.

  • Support package: Club Members benefit from a support package provided by CDC Biodiversité, which includes:
    • 5 hours per year of individual support. This can cover the use of the GBS Toolbox software as well as footprint measurement issues they may face (e.g. regulatory frameworks, voluntary reporting initiatives, etc.). CDC Biodiversité also commits to resolving within one working week any software issues that prevent the calculation of impacts.

    • Technical support limited to users working with Microsoft Excel.

    • Access to several methodological workshops.

    • A continuing education session [reserved for assessors who have completed CDC Biodiversité's Level 2 GBS training].

    • An FAQ knowledge base.

Presentation of our Working Groups:

Club Members meet regularly in working groups that bring together stakeholders (consultants, financial institutions, companies and public actors).

The Club has set up working groups on specific themes, including biodiversity credits and sector-based issues (energy infrastructure 2023–2024, food and agriculture in 2025). To broaden the Club's perspective, enrich discussions and highlight the views of international members, the Club also offers a "biodiversity footprinting" working group.

As a financial institution, here is the list of Working Groups you may join, along with their objectives:

  • Value Chain working group: focuses on issues related to the value chain of companies, in particular procurement and the direct footprint of production sites and processes. Its discussions focus, among other things, on the use of data from Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This WG is conducted in French.

  • Food & Agriculture Sector Working Group: focuses on the agri-food sector and its specificities, particularly the challenges of assessing the impacts of different agricultural practices. This WG is conducted in English.

  • Biodiversity Credits Working Group: addresses the issues related to the concept of “biodiversity credits”, its ecosystem of actors, associated methodologies and both technical and conceptual questions, as well as their integration into biodiversity strategies. This WG is conducted in English.

  • Biodiversity Footprinting Working Group: aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing on biodiversity footprint measurement among non-French-speaking members, thereby widening discussions to different geographical and regulatory contexts. This WG is conducted in English.

When filling in your membership (on the following page), you may select which working groups you wish to join or exclude from your membership.

Member involvement:

Active participation as a B4B+ Club Member typically represents 15 to 20 hours per year, including working groups (average duration of 3 hours), the plenary session, the cocktail, networking events and technical or strategic webinars. However, participation is entirely flexible: each Member chooses the events in which they wish to take part.
